@Sammie: It's still longer than 500px. 'Sides, all you did was resize it, and that doesn't work too well on things many member could be copying and using.

@Kitty: I really don't know, to be honest. It's just a rule that's been in place on these sites for a while. I think it was put in place because back in 2004, most people had 600*800 resolution monitors. Although there's some places that having dividers too long will create a left-right scroll bar on.
